AA/AS in Biology, General

The biology transfer pathway introduces students to fields such as biotechnology, genetics, microbiology, ecology and conservation. Learners build problem-solving skills and see how biology shapes society. Students train on instruments commonly found in industry, and free tutoring is available online or in person. Small classes and faculty who teach all lectures and labs mean individual help is easy to find. Students may also add a research certificate or a science and engineering technology degree and take part in independent research. The Science Scholar Program offers selected students financial awards, mentoring and a semester-long research project. The credits transfer to many Minnesota universities. Prospective students can review program details, cost information and faculty listings on the program page before applying. An online video walkthrough of the biology lab is available, and walk-in tutoring hours give extra support for demanding science courses throughout the term.
