Cert in Carpenters

The carpentry program prepares students for construction careers through hands-on work. Instructors guide students as they build structures and complete interior finish tasks including doors, window trim and baseboards. The first semester focuses on becoming familiar with tools in the shop, and later semesters move onto job sites for practical application. Students also build projects for community partners. Students start in summer and must attend full time, with classes held four days a week. Beyond building and remodeling, the skills apply to sales, building inspection and project management. Prospective students can review program details, cost information and faculty listings on the program page before applying. An online video walkthrough of the carpentry shop is offered, and the college notes that most graduates find employment in the construction industry after completing the program.
