Overview

Engineering at St. Philip's College is a pre-major for students who plan to transfer to an engineering school and continue in engineering or another science field. The Natural Sciences, Kinesiology, Engineering and Mathematics department hosts it. Some students must first finish College Algebra or Precalculus, depending on how they place and what they studied in high school, before they can enroll in Calculus I. Transfer destinations named on the page include mechanical, civil, electrical, and biomedical engineering. Each engineering field of study came out of work by the state higher education board alongside community colleges and universities across Texas. Students should meet an advisor and compare the requirements of the school they plan to attend, which differ by school and can shift over time.
