AA/AS in Music

Music at Suffolk County Community College supports students who want to study performance, theory and musicianship. The department is located in the Southampton building on the Ammerman campus in Selden. Performance opportunities include seven department ensembles open to participants, and a video on the page showcases the department's work. A shared office assistant for music and theatre handles general inquiries. Students who plan to continue at a four-year institution can review the transfer agreements Suffolk publishes for its majors. Questions about applying are handled by the Central Admissions office, which is open on weekdays during regular business hours, and each program lists a contact person for academic questions. Course listings are available online, so prospective students can compare requirements before choosing a major and speak with an advisor about next steps.
