AA/AS in Human Services, General

Human Services prepares students for entry-level roles that support individuals and families in need and for further study in helping professions. The program emphasizes practical understanding of community and social service settings. A program director on the Ammerman campus in Selden leads the major from the Riverhead building. Prospective students are encouraged to contact that office for advising, and the page lists the central admissions contact for questions about applying. Students who plan to continue at a four-year institution can review the transfer agreements Suffolk publishes for its majors. Questions about applying are handled by the Central Admissions office, which is open on weekdays during regular business hours, and each program lists a contact person for academic questions. Course listings are available online, so prospective students can compare requirements before choosing a major and speak with an advisor about next steps.
