PGCert in Teaching English or French as a Second or Foreign Language

This post-baccalaureate certificate provides the knowledge and field experience for an initial teaching license in teaching English learners in Massachusetts, and prepares teachers to support English language learners in diverse schools. Classes meet in the late afternoon and evening and also online, which suits working professionals, and students may proceed part time or full time. The license covers both pre-kindergarten through sixth grade and grades five through twelve. The program is taught at Worcester State University in Worcester, Massachusetts, and is a postgraduate course of study beyond the bachelor's degree. Students work with faculty advisors to plan their studies and to connect coursework with their professional aims.
