Overview
This four-year Bachelor of Arts in Finance and Economics combines the two disciplines, developing skills in forecasting, financial analysis, and management alongside a grounding in economic theory. Coursework spans regional, national, and international economic issues, including environmental economics, microeconomics, urban economics, international trade, public finance, and international finance. Students build close working relationships with faculty through hands-on learning, and cooperative education placements are available with employers such as OLG, Brookfield Power, and the Government of Canada. Spring and summer term courses provide added scheduling flexibility alongside day, evening, and weekend options at some locations, and about a quarter of students in the program are international. Graduates are prepared for roles in financial analysis, banking, corporate finance, and economic policy, as well as further study in finance, economics, or business.
