Overview
This Ontario College Certificate program, delivered through the Algonquin Centre for Construction Excellence, fulfills the in-school classroom requirement for registered Construction and Maintenance Electrician (Trade 309A) apprentices. Structured across three levels (Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced), it covers the Canadian Electrical Code, electrical theory, electronics, instrumentation, and installation methods used by construction and maintenance electricians. Admission requires applicants to be currently employed in the trade and formally registered as apprentices with Ontario's Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development, holding a valid Offer of Classroom Training that includes a Ministry Client ID and approved Class Number, as well as membership in good standing with Skilled Trades Ontario. The program is eligible for a Post-Graduation Work Permit. Enrolment is arranged through Skilled Trades Ontario registration rather than a standard college application.
