Overview
The Human Resources Certificate provides practical training in recruitment, workplace culture, employment law, and people-focused organizational practices. The one-year, two-term programme comprises ten courses covering talent acquisition, compensation and benefits, learning and development, change management, health and safety, labour relations, and employment law. Graduates may transfer into the Human Resources major of the Business Administration Diploma, a programme accredited by CPHR Alberta. Classes are available in person, online, and in blended formats, with delivery options determined by enrolment and subject to change. The certificate prepares graduates for entry-level human resources roles across a range of industries, combining foundational HR theory with applied skills relevant to organizational and people-management functions in a variety of workplace settings across public and private-sector employers.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Applicants need credit in English Language Arts 30-1, or a minimum of 65% in English Language Arts 30-2, together with credit in Math 30-1 or 30-2, or equivalent. Applicants without these prerequisites may qualify with a General Educational Development (GED) test result of at least 520, or by achieving a satisfactory result on the Bow Valley College Admission and Placement Test.
