BA/BS in Geography and Environment is a bachelor's degree in Geography programme offered by Brandon University in Brandon, Canada. The programme is delivered on campus. Tuition for international students is CAD 648 per credit (CAD 172 per credit for local students).
The Geography and Environment program at Brandon University examines the relationships between the environment and society, and the interdependence among regions, natural systems, physical features, and cultural activities. Students approach geographic questions of location, spatial distribution, and regional processes from a spatial perspective, working toward a Bachelor's degree with a Geography major. The program combines classroom study with applied experience: practicum courses place students in on- or off-campus placements, and students may pursue Directed Studies or an Undergraduate Thesis for specialized research. A Co-operative Education designation is available for Geography majors, integrating paid work terms into the degree. Field courses cover techniques such as stream gauging and wetland data collection, and students have access to the Centre for Geomatics for GIS, remote sensing, and cartography work, as well as the John Langton Tyman Map Library. The program suits students drawn to fieldwork and spatial analysis, and prepares graduates for careers in urban and regional land-use planning, conservation and resource management, mapping, geographic information systems and remote sensing, parks and recreation, teaching, and research. It is delivered on campus at the John R. Brodie Science Centre in Brandon, Manitoba.
