Admission Requirements: Entry to the Forensic Science option of the Forensic Investigation Advanced Certificate is a two-step process. Applicants first contact the program assistant for a pre-entry assessment and upload the approved assessment with their online application, along with a resume and a signed applicant waiver form. Academically, the program requires completion of a minimum of 60.0 credits from one or more recognized post-secondary institutions, including 6.0 credits from outside the core academic discipline. English language proficiency is Category 2 — English Studies 12 at 67% or equivalent — which BCIT's general proficiency page equates to IELTS Academic 6.5 overall (no band below 5.5), TOEFL iBT 86, PTE Academic 60, or Duolingo 120. A Criminal Record Check issued within one year of application is required and its outcome may affect acceptance. Applicants whose credentials are from outside Canada, the US, the UK, Australia or New Zealand need a comprehensive evaluation from the International Credential Evaluation Service (ICES).
