Requirements

Admission Requirements: This part-time diploma sets no prior-credential or course prerequisite beyond BCIT's general entrance requirements: applicants are accepted on a first-qualified basis once English Studies 12 at 67% (or equivalent) is met, corresponding to BCIT's Category 2 English Language Proficiency standard — also satisfied by IELTS Academic 6.5 overall with no band under 5.5, TOEFL iBT 4.5 overall (no section under 3.5), PTE Academic 60, Duolingo 120, or CAEL 70. Graduates of BCIT's Certificate in Graphic Design, or an equivalent credential from another institution, may apply for direct entry with advanced standing, subject to a credential assessment. The page lists no portfolio, interview, work-experience, or other non-academic condition for entry, and international applicants need a valid BCIT study permit before starting.

Application Details

Start Date: January, April and September — BCIT lists these as ongoing Flexible Learning (part-time studies) intakes and publishes no separate full-time intake schedule for this diploma.
Application Deadline: The three intakes BCIT publishes here belong to the ongoing Flexible Learning (part-time studies) route, not to a full-time cohort: Winter (January) opens 1 February and closes 2 January for domestic and 1 November for international applicants; Spring/Summer (April) opens 1 May and closes 1 April domestic and 1 February international; Fall (September) opens 1 October and closes 1 September domestic and 2 July international. Openings are 9:00 am PT, deadlines 11:59 pm PT, and a date on a weekend moves to the next business day. BCIT warns that intakes may fill before the deadline and advises applying early to secure a place. International applicants are accepted with a valid study permit.
