Admission Requirements: BCIT requires no formal application for this micro-credential; applicants instead email their BCIT ID number to the forensics program describing their education and work experience related to forensic nursing. Recommended for success is standing as a Registered Nurse or in the final year of a Bachelor of Science in Nursing program, English proficiency meeting BCIT's general language-proficiency standard, competency with computers and online learning, and a reliable internet connection for live seminars. Of the two required courses, FSCT 7810 carries no prerequisite; FSCT 7840 is restricted to Registered Nurses, Nurse Practitioners, Registered Psychiatric Nurses, physicians, or medical professionals hired into a SAFE role. No minimum GPA or specific English/French test score is published, and this program is not available to international students.
