Micro-credential in Fundamentals in Polytechnic Teaching Microcredential

Admission Requirements: BCIT requires no formal application to this microcredential; applicants register directly for its three courses. The page strongly recommends, rather than mandates, Grade 12 graduation or an equivalent qualification, plus the time to allocate an additional two to four hours a week for reading, assignments and studying. Applicants should also meet one of: current or recent teaching experience in a post-secondary polytechnic setting, or an intent to teach in a polytechnic environment together with at least three years of post-secondary or trades training or relevant field experience. The page states no English-language test score, minimum grade, interview, or portfolio requirement. Delivered blended, in-person or fully online across BCIT's ongoing January, April and September intakes, the blended and in-person options are not available to international applicants, and the online option is open only to those completing it from outside Canada or holding valid Canadian status other than a study permit; the program does not qualify a graduate for a Post-Graduation Work Permit.
