Brock University's Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (Honours) is a fully online program that lets holders of a two-year Early Childhood Education diploma, or an equivalent credential, complete a bachelor's degree in early childhood education in two and a half years. The program builds on prior ECE training to develop students' ability to engage in and contribute to the field of early care and education, preparing graduates for positions requiring a strong foundation in the area, as well as for further graduate studies or teacher education. A micro-certificate in Special Needs in Early Childhood Education is embedded within the degree, covering the learning and developmental aspects of young children with exceptionalities, including social cognition, executive function, learning disabilities, and behavioural, sensory or motor/physical challenges. Career paths for graduates include child-care centres, family-resource centres, full-day early learning environments, Ontario Early Years Centres, children's support services and professional learning resource centres.
