Brock University's Geography program, offered through the Faculty of Social Sciences, is available as either a BA or a BSc and spans three fields: Human Geography, Physical Geography, and Geomatics. Human Geography studies human and non-human worlds and their interactions with environments and built and symbolic landscapes; Physical Geography examines weather, climate, and landform processes and their interaction with the biosphere and human activity; and Geomatics covers cartography, remote sensing including drone technologies, and geographic information systems. Each field combines theory, practice, and experiential learning through labs, seminars, field studies, and internships, including studies of the Niagara Peninsula and locations abroad. It is a four-year degree, with minors in Environmental Science of the Anthropocene, Geography, Geomatics, and Urban and Planning Studies also offered, aimed at students headed toward planning, environmental, GIS, or teaching careers.
