Program details
Overview
Study opens with engineering mechanics and project design alongside a grounding in first-year science and academic writing. Completion is structured to lead into second-year standing in a Bachelor of Software Engineering or Bachelor of Engineering at the University of Victoria, or into course-to-course transfer toward engineering programmes at other post-secondary institutions.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: One of English 12 at C+ or the Camosun English 12 alternative at C. One mathematics course: Pre-calculus 12 at B, MATH 097 or MATH 115 at B, or MATH 107 at A. One physics course at C: Physics 12 or its Camosun alternative. And one chemistry course at C: Chemistry 11 or its Camosun alternative. Camosun advises that a B or better in Physics 12 puts you in a stronger position, though C is the stated minimum. INTERNATIONAL APPLICANTS must clear Camosun's general college English standard on top of anything listed here — IELTS Academic 6.0 with no sub-score under 6.0, TOEFL iBT 78 with no sub-score under 19, PTE Academic 54 with no sub-score under 50, Cambridge C1 Advanced 174 with no sub-score under 169, or CAEL CE 60 with no component under 60, taken within the past two years — because the college states that its general standard applies even where a programme page shows a lower one.
Application Details
Application Deadline:Domestic applicants apply through EducationPlannerBC for Camosun's open-enrolment programmes: for Fall 2027 (September) applications open 1 October 2026 with an early deadline of 15 May 2027 for priority registration and a late deadline of 26 August 2027; Winter 2027 (January) runs 15 September 2026 to 7 January 2027, and Summer 2027 (May) 15 January 2027 to 29 April 2027. Limited-enrolment programmes publish only an opening date and can close once the waitlist exceeds the seats on offer. International applicants must submit a complete application by 1 June (Fall), 1 October (Winter) or 1 February (Summer), though later applications are still reviewed while seats remain, making admission effectively rolling for both groups once the early deadlines pass. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
