Geography and Environmental Studies at the University of Regina, offered through Campion College together with the University of Regina, First Nations University of Canada, and Luther College, is available as a Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Arts Honours, Bachelor of Science, or Bachelor of Science Honours, each completed over four years. The program combines human geography, physical geography, and environmental studies, examining the spatial organization of human activity, human-environment interaction, and environmental challenges such as climate change and resource depletion. Applied, field-based learning is a central feature: training in geographic information systems, domestic and international field trips, and access to a dedicated map library and an environmental research laboratory. A cooperative education placement option is available for work experience related to the discipline. Class sizes are kept small, giving students close contact with faculty whose research spans topics such as erosion, gentrification, and the transition away from fossil fuels. Graduates pursue careers in urban planning, environmental consulting, geospatial analysis, and government agencies.
