Overview

Bachelor of Science in Medical Radiation Technology is a joint program between the University of Regina, studied through Campion College, and Saskatchewan Polytechnic. Students first complete a two-year diploma in Medical Radiologic Technology at Saskatchewan Polytechnic, or an equivalent program recognized by the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists, then transfer up to 60 credit hours toward an additional two years of study at the University of Regina, for a total program length of four years. The curriculum covers radiation science and biophysics, anatomy and physiology, examination techniques, X-ray equipment, radiation safety and protection, and patient care, alongside physics, statistics, health economics, sociology of health, and professional ethics. Graduates work as medical radiation technologists performing diagnostic imaging and treatment procedures. Admission to the degree-completion portion requires prior completion of the diploma and meeting the Faculty of Science's admission requirements.

Requirements

Admission Requirements: To qualify for admission, applicants must first complete a two-year diploma in Medical Radiologic Technology at Saskatchewan Polytechnic, or a similar program recognized by the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT), then meet the admission requirements for the Faculty of Science; students who meet these requirements are granted 60 credit hours of block transfer credit toward the degree. All applicants must meet the university's English language proficiency requirement, satisfied by an IELTS Academic overall band of 6.5 (no band below 6.0), a TOEFL iBT overall score of 4.5 with each of Reading, Listening, Speaking and Writing at least 4, a PTE Academic score of 59 (no area below 59), a Duolingo English Test score of 120, or a CAEL score of 60, unless prior education was completed in English.
