The Bachelor of Arts in Geography focuses on human and environmental geography, exploring and analyzing topics such as local food systems, urban poverty, cultural landscapes, adaptation to climate change, and natural resource management. Students learn to apply geographic approaches to issues including climate change, environmental degradation, biodiversity loss, globalization, urban inequality, colonialism and spatial injustice. Concentrations are available in Physical Geography and Urban Geography, and a separate Bachelor of Science in Physical Geography is also offered. The program includes field courses, co-op work placements, experiential learning and hands-on training in tools such as geographic information systems (GIS), combining classroom instruction with applied fieldwork.
