Overview
Global Genders and Sexualities is a specialization within Carleton University's Bachelor of Global and International Studies (BGInS) Honours degree. It examines how bodies, genders, and sexualities are shaped within local, national, and international contexts, including how race, colonization, citizenship, and ability inform and govern intimate life and identity. Students complete a common BGInS core alongside specialization-specific coursework, a second-language requirement (choices include Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, or American Sign Language), and an international experience requirement fulfilled through study abroad, an international internship, a course taken abroad, or an international group project. A Co-op work-integrated learning option is available. The Honours degree totals 20.0 credits and is normally completed over four years of full-time study.
