Overview

This program leads to a Master of Science in Health Sciences, delivered on campus in Ottawa over two years of full-time study, with Fall and Summer entry. The program provides advanced learning and hands-on, interdisciplinary research training in health sciences, with access to new, state-of-the-art laboratory and research facilities at Carleton. Students undertake supervised research alongside graduate-level coursework in the discipline. Requirements

Admission Requirements: Applicants to the Master of Science in Health Sciences must meet Carleton's graduate minimum admission standard: a four-year (honours) bachelor's degree, normally with at least a B- overall average and B+ or better in the major subject; individual programs may set additional or higher requirements. Applicants whose first language is not English must meet Carleton's English-proficiency standard: IELTS Academic 6.5 overall (minimum 6.0 per band), TOEFL iBT 86 overall (minimum 22 in writing/speaking, 20 in reading/listening, for tests taken before 21 January 2026), Duolingo English Test 120 overall (minimum 110 writing/reading/speaking, 105 listening), Pearson PTE Academic 55 overall (minimum 47 per skill), CAEL 70 overall (minimum 60 per band), or Cambridge C1 Advanced/C2 Proficiency 176 overall (minimum 169 per component).
