Overview
Techniques d'education specialisee (351.A1) is a three-year, six-semester Diplome d'etudes collegiales (DEC) technical program that trains specialized educators to build helping relationships and deliver educational and support activities with people experiencing disability or adaptation and social-inclusion difficulties. Students learn to work across the lifespan, with children, adolescents, adults, and seniors, including people with physical, neurological, or intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, learning or language difficulties, mental-health issues, or substance dependency. Classroom study is combined with supervised internships in settings across the Cote-Nord region, and the program offers an optional final internship abroad in Guadeloupe. Weekly workload ranges from 27 to 36 hours of classes, labs, and internship time, plus 6 to 22 hours of personal study, depending on the semester.
