Electrical Engineering Technology: Networks and Telecommunications (Génie électrique: Réseaux et télécommunications, 243.F0) is a three-year technical diploma, launched in fall 2024 to replace the former Électronique program, focused on designing and engineering wired and wireless data and telecommunications network infrastructure. Students build and test telecommunication systems and prototypes, working with cabling, network hardware, wireless equipment, and monitoring tools, and on completion obtain internationally recognized CISCO accreditation. The program is delivered using facilities the college describes as unique in the Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean region. Graduates work as telecommunications or electronics technicians, cable, telephony, or network-monitoring technicians, or computer-network installation and maintenance technicians. The program leads to a Diploma of College Studies (DEC) and prepares graduates for roles in telecommunications infrastructure design, installation, and maintenance.
