Overview
Business and Commerce is the business-focused profile of the three-year Administration and Management (Administration et gestion) diploma, which since fall 2025 has replaced the former Business Management, Accounting and Management, and Office Administration programs. The profile trains students in organizational management, business start-up, marketing, human resources, customer service, and business communication, preparing them to plan, organize, coordinate, and control administrative activities across service businesses, purchasing or merchandising departments, and advertising agencies. Coursework includes digital content production and web strategy, delivered with input from the college's Art and Media Technology school. Students complete two work placements, including a capstone integration placement, and gain hands-on experience through Tango, the program's in-house student-run business, which provides consulting services in marketing, human resources, and entrepreneurship to local organizations. The program leads to a Diploma of College Studies (DEC) and prepares graduates for roles such as marketing coordinator, human resources coordinator, sales representative, or entrepreneur, as well as further university study.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Applicants must hold a Quebec Secondary School Diploma (DES), or a Diploma of Vocational Studies (DEP) together with the required Secondary 5 language and Secondary 4 mathematics courses, or prior education recognized by the Cégep as equivalent or sufficient. Some programmes carry additional particular admission conditions or selection criteria beyond these general requirements. Applications are submitted through the Service régional d'admission du Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean, with fall-term admission rounds (deadlines March 1, May 1, and June 1) and a winter-term round (deadline November 1).
