Medical Sonography Technology (142.G0) is a three-year, six-session Diploma of College Studies (DEC) offered at Cegep de Sainte-Foy, with intake in the Fall term only. The program trains ultrasound technologists to perform abdominal, pelvic, surface, obstetric-gynecological, cardiac, musculoskeletal, vascular, and breast examinations, producing images and recordings that support physician diagnosis. Training uses Centre S, the college's clinical-simulation centre, alongside hospital-based practicums. Graduates must pass an admission exam and register with the relevant provincial professional order before practising, and typically work in hospital settings, private clinics, CLSCs, and medical-equipment companies. Ministry of Health and Social Services study bursaries of up to $12,000 are available to eligible graduates on completion of the program. The program prepares students for a regulated diagnostic-imaging career within Quebec's health network.
