Sciences, informatique et mathématique (200.C1) is a pre-university Diploma of College Studies (DEC) at Cégep de Sept-Îles that combines core scientific training with an emphasis on computing applications. The two-year program develops foundational knowledge in the sciences alongside computer programming, framed by attention to the historical and social context of scientific and technological development. In the final session, students take part in a capstone project connected to ongoing research work rather than a purely classroom exercise. No alternance or multi-campus arrangement is described; the program follows the standard full-time college structure. It suits students who are drawn to both science and computing and who want a program that blends analytical and creative problem-solving with adaptability to changing technology, ahead of continuing to university. Graduates typically pursue further study in fields such as engineering, computer science, software engineering, artificial intelligence, or digital media and imaging, making the program a preparatory step for a range of technical and scientific university programs rather than a terminal technical credential.
