Program details
Overview
Programmation et analyse de systemes electroniques embarques is an Attestation d'etudes collegiales (AEC) that trains technicians for roles in embedded and computer-controlled systems. Students learn to process technical information, solve mathematics problems related to embedded-systems technology, diagnose analog electronic faults and microprocessor-based circuit problems, write technical procedures, and program and modify embedded system code. Coursework spans configuring and programming user interfaces, programming embedded systems, configuring an industrial robotic cell, applying electronic circuits, delivering an applied robotics software project, programming industrial automatons, diagnosing electronic systems, modelling simple circuit behaviour, and applying professional practices. The program runs full-time over 9 months, delivered on campus. Graduates are prepared for technician roles in connected-object programming, electronics or programmable robotics, embedded electronic systems, or electronic-systems troubleshooting, working in start-ups, small and medium enterprises, and larger organizations.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: General admission to this Attestation d'etudes collegiales (AEC) requires a Diploma of Secondary Studies (DES), or training the college judges sufficient, plus one of: a Diploma of Vocational Studies (DEP); an interruption of full-time studies, or at least two consecutive sessions (or one academic year) of full-time postsecondary study; one interrupted session plus one postsecondary session; or coverage under a cegep-employer agreement or a government program. Program-specific prerequisites are Secondary IV Technical-Scientific (TS) or Science Natural (SN) mathematics, or Secondary V Cultural, Social and Technical (CST) mathematics, plus Secondary IV physical science (STE, SE, or Physics 436); relevant work experience or training may compensate for missing prerequisites under certain conditions. Applicants must also hold at least one year of work experience, or one year of training, in fields related to electronics or programming. Candidates born outside Canada must submit a birth certificate and school records assessed as equivalent by SRAM or Quebec's immigration ministry, plus proof of Canadian citizenship, right of establishment in Canada, or a study permit. Selection includes a French-proficiency interview, possible written French and English tests, and assessment of motivation and foundational knowledge in electronics, mathematics and programming.
