Overview
Cégep Gérald-Godin is a public French-language college in the Sainte-Geneviève district of Montréal's West Island, and the only francophone cégep serving that part of the island.
Named after the Quebec poet and politician Gérald Godin, the college occupies a riverside campus on the Rivière des Prairies, where a contemporary pavilion extends a heritage former novitiate building, and it presents itself as a human-scale institution where all regular teaching is in French. Students choose among four pre-university DEC streams — natural sciences; science, computer science and mathematics; social sciences with three profiles; and arts, literature and communication with a cinema and media focus — plus three double-DEC combinations, seven technical DEC programs covering pharmacy techniques, nursing, biopharmaceutical technologies, programmable electronics, early childhood education, administration and management, and computer science technology, and a Tremplin DEC transition pathway.
Continuing education and corporate training, including AEC credentials and French courses, run from a second campus at Galeries des Sources in Dorval. Applied research has grown through three centres: CERASP, a centre for applied research in pharmaceutical sciences created with Cégep John Abbott; CRIFÉ, a centre for research and innovation in educational francophonie; and LabSEL, a laboratory supporting the teaching of literacies.
Campus life features a library, sports centre, cafeteria, student cooperative and the Salle Pauline-Julien performance hall.
Admission to regular programs, for both Quebec and international applicants, is managed through the SRAM regional admission service.
