Techniques d'inspection de bâtiments is an AEC (Attestation d'études collégiales) programme, offered in collaboration with Cégep de Montmorency, that trains students to visually inspect residential or commercial properties of five units or fewer before purchase or upon delivery of new construction. Coursework covers analyzing the building-inspection profession and its regulatory context, visual inspection of structural elements, plumbing and electrical systems, heating, ventilation and air-conditioning, the building envelope and exterior features, computerized data processing, and administering a building-inspection business. The programme is delivered full-time and in-person at the Brossard campus, over 630 hours (8 months). Graduates are prepared to work as building-inspection technicians, self-employed or for real-estate valuation firms, civil-engineering and architecture consultancies, construction or insurance companies, and government or municipal bodies.
