Industrial Mechanics (Millwright) is a certificate program offered by CCNB that trains students to install and maintain equipment in manufacturing settings. Students develop skills to fabricate, fit, and install parts, overhaul mechanical assemblies, and work precisely on machine tools, following technical drawings and safety procedures. The 30-week program, delivered at the Bathurst campus, includes an industrial work placement that lets students apply their skills on the plant floor. Graduates typically work as industrial and stationary-plant mechanics. It suits students who are adaptable, show initiative and analytical thinking, are in good physical condition, and bring manual dexterity, logical-mathematical ability, spatial perception, and communication skills to precise, hands-on mechanical work. Training combines shop-based coursework with the industrial placement at the end of the program.
