Power Engineering is a certificate program offered by CCNB that trains students to operate and maintain energy, heating, and air-conditioning installations safely and efficiently. In labs and workshops built to reproduce real plant conditions, students learn to monitor operations, intervene on equipment, and optimize system performance. The 37-week program, delivered at the Bathurst campus, includes work placements that give students hands-on experience in an operating facility. Graduates typically work as stationary-plant mechanics and power-network operators, and may become eligible to write the provincial fourth-class power engineer examination. It suits students who like working with their hands and equipment, enjoy taking operational readings, solve problems through logical reasoning, and have a genuine interest in mechanical and energy systems. Facilities and training take place at the Bathurst campus.
