Program details

Overview

This Attestation of College Studies (AEC) program trains students in web, mobile, and multiplatform application development, delivered full-time and on-campus over 16 months (1,410 hours). Coursework addresses the technical skills needed to build web, mobile, and cross-platform software applications, targeting a field the college describes as having strong demand for developer roles. Graduates are prepared to work in IT services and software development firms, financial institutions, government and municipal bodies, insurance companies, and universities, colleges, and school boards. The program leads to an Attestation of College Studies (AEC) and combines classroom-based technical instruction in front-end and multiplatform development with exposure to current industry salary ranges and market demand, as cited by the college from industry compensation surveys. Selection for the program may include an admission interview, a qualification test, and verification that the applicant has no relevant unpardoned criminal conviction.

Requirements

Admission Requirements: Admission requires a Quebec Secondary School Diploma (DES), a Diploma of Vocational Studies (DEP), or training judged sufficient by the college, combined with at least one of the following: an interruption of full-time studies of at least two consecutive semesters or one school year; enrolment under an agreement between the college and an employer or a government program; an interruption of one semester of full-time study followed by one semester of full-time postsecondary study; or holding a DEP. Applicants whose only credential is a DES, DEP, or equivalent may also qualify if the program provides technical training unavailable through a Diploma of College Studies (DEC) pathway, or if it is covered by an agreement between the Quebec ministry and a government department or agency. Eligible applicant categories are Canadian citizens, permanent residents, and international students holding a valid Quebec Acceptance Certificate (CAQ) and a college-level study permit. Applicants must also have completed Mathematics 436 (or TS4e, SN4e, CST5e, or an equivalent course). Selection for the program may include an admission interview, a qualification test, and a document confirming the applicant has never been found guilty of an offence under the Canadian Criminal Code for which a pardon has not been obtained.
