Program details

Overview

This Attestation of College Studies (AEC) program prepares students to advise individuals and businesses on damage insurance, with an English-language communication component built into the curriculum. Delivered full-time and entirely at a distance over 14 months (1,005 hours, roughly 16 hours of scheduled study per week), the program combines insurance-specific technical training with applied English communication skills relevant to the damage-insurance sector. Graduates are prepared for roles such as damage insurance agent, underwriter, damage insurance broker, and claims adjuster. The program leads to an Attestation of College Studies (AEC) and targets an industry the college describes as having favourable employment prospects in the coming years. Because instruction is delivered online, students complete coursework remotely rather than attending classes on campus, an arrangement reflected in the program's own name. No work placement component is described on the official program page for this particular AEC.

Requirements

Admission Requirements: Admission requires a Quebec Secondary School Diploma (DES), a Diploma of Vocational Studies (DEP), or training judged sufficient by the college, combined with at least one of the following: an interruption of full-time studies of at least two consecutive semesters or one school year; enrolment under an agreement between the college and an employer or a government program; an interruption of one semester of full-time study followed by one semester of full-time postsecondary study; or holding a DEP. Applicants whose only credential is a DES, DEP, or equivalent may also qualify if the program provides technical training unavailable through a Diploma of College Studies (DEC) pathway, or if it is covered by an agreement between the Quebec ministry and a government department or agency. Eligible applicant categories are Canadian citizens, permanent residents, and international students holding a valid Quebec Acceptance Certificate (CAQ) and a college-level study permit.
