This continuing-education (AEC) program prepares professional pilots, delivered jointly with flight school Orizon Aviation at Quebec City's Jean-Lesage International Airport. It runs about a year and a half (960 hours) over four sessions, including one summer session. Coursework leads to a Private Pilot Licence (PPL), a Commercial Pilot Licence with instrument rating (CPL-IR), and night, multi-engine, and Group 1 instrument-rating endorsements issued by Transport Canada, along with aviation-specific English instruction. Graduates complete a minimum of 210 flight hours and 30 hours of simulator practice, including training on a Boeing 737 MAX simulator. Those who pass the required theory exams may go on to accumulate the 1,500 flight hours needed for an airline transport pilot licence. The program prepares graduates for roles such as air-taxi pilot, cargo pilot, aerial work (forest-fire patrol, mapping, aerial photography), and medical evacuation, and can lead to flight-instructor training.
