Overview
Prepare yourself for an exciting career as a professional helicopter pilot with our one-year, three-term Commercial Helicopter Operations program. The current unprecedented demand and projected growth in the aviation industry offer numerous opportunities to excel post-graduation. This program allows you to enter the industry quickly with the necessary skills to be successful. Students enrolled in this program will have the option to complete groundschool and flight training concurrently with Great Lakes Helicopter, qualifying them to apply for a Canadian Commercial Pilot License - Helicopter.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Direct entry requires an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent, or mature-student status for applicants 19 or older; Grade 12 compulsory English at the C or U level, or Conestoga's Preparatory Communications (COMM1250); and Grade 12 Mathematics at the C or U level with a minimum of 75% in MCT4C or 65% in MHF4U or MCV4U, or 75% in Conestoga's Preparatory Mathematics for Technology & Apprenticeship (MATH1385). Applicants must also provide a Transport Canada Category 1 Medical Certificate to the Registrar's Office by December 1 prior to their entry year. The English-language requirement is Conestoga's institution-wide standard for diploma and certificate programs, applied where transcripts are not in English: IELTS Academic overall band 6.0 with no band below 5.5, TOEFL iBT 80 with no skill below 20, PTE Academic 53, CAEL 70 overall with Writing 60 and no sub-test below 30, or Duolingo 110. Canadian applicants with foreign transcripts require assessment by ICAS or WES.
