Overview

The Engineering Certificate provides you with the first-year Common Core Engineering curriculum for B.C. and prepares students to transfer into a second year Engineering degree at degree-granting post-secondary institutions. The work of an engineer involves analysis, design, planning, construction, and maintenance of structures and systems. There is incredible career variety in this field from civil, mechanical, computer, chemical, or engineering physics to name a few. There is high demand for Engineers.

Requirements

Admission Requirements: The Engineering Certificate requires a minimum grade of B (75%) in one of English Studies 12, English First Peoples 12, or Provincial English (Literature-based); a math requirement met by a minimum grade of C+ (65%) in both Pre-Calculus 11 and 12, or Pre-Calculus 12 plus a minimum grade of B (75%) in Calculus 12, or Mathematics - Provincial Level at C+; a minimum grade of C+ (65%) in Chemistry 12 or Chemistry - Provincial Level; and a minimum grade of C+ (65%) in Physics 12 or Physics - Provincial Level. Chemistry 12 and Physics 12 may be completed either before or after admission. Calculus 12 and Programming 12, where available at the applicant's high school, are recommended but not required.

Application Deadline: Domestic and international applicants to College of the Rockies both apply through EducationPlannerBC. For the 2027-28 academic year the general application window opens 1 November 2026, and applications received by 28 February 2027 get priority processing for Fall 2027 entry; admission is otherwise rolling with no fixed closing date. International applicants get a decision about two weeks after a complete application, with no separate published international deadline. The Bachelor of Science in Nursing is competitive-entry: its window runs 1 November 2026 to 15 February 2027, with final transcripts due 28 February 2027 for Fall 2027 admission. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
