The PhD in Health and Exercise Science is a thesis-based doctoral program in Concordia University's School of Health that expands students' knowledge in specific areas of health sciences research, including cellular and systems physiology, intervention and rehabilitation, and population health, with an emphasis on prevention and supportive care. Students pursue original research under faculty supervision and have access to the School of Health's research facilities as they develop their dissertation project. The degree requires 90 credits and has a nominal full-time duration of four years, based primarily at the Loyola campus. Unlike most of Concordia's doctoral programs, this one admits new students in the fall, winter, and summer terms, giving applicants more flexibility in when they begin their studies.
