The English MA offers two options: English Literature and Creative Writing. The English Literature option allows students to study literary texts including poetry, fiction, and digital writing, culminating in a thesis. The Creative Writing option focuses on original creative work across traditional or experimental genres. The program totals 45 credits and is normally completed over two years of full-time study. Admission to the English Literature option requires an honours degree or equivalent in English with a minimum B+ average (3.30 GPA); the Creative Writing option requires a major in English Literature or equivalent with the same minimum average, plus a writing portfolio. Applicants whose first language is not English must demonstrate sufficient English proficiency for graduate study. The program admits students in the Fall term only, at Concordia University's Sir George Williams campus.
