Overview
The Bachelor of Computer Science (Honours) is a four-year degree at the Waterloo campus that prepares software developers through applied and integrated knowledge and skills in software quality, reliability and security. The multidisciplinary, experiential curriculum covers testing methodologies, software project management and security awareness, with opportunities to specialize in Big Data Analysis, Cybersecurity or Cloud Computing. Students complete two paid co-op work terms.

Admission Requirements: Domestic entry: an OSSD or being 19 or older, plus six Grade 12 U or M courses averaging at least 65%, which must include Grade 12 English (ENG4U) or Conestoga's Preparatory Communications for Degrees (COMM0350), any Grade 12 U mathematics or Preparatory Mathematics for Degrees (MATH0150), and four further Grade 12 U or M courses. The 65% cumulative average is the threshold for consideration only; Conestoga states that competition for places often requires more. Co-op eligibility inside the degree needs a session weighted average of at least 65% in the qualifying term two semesters before a work term, with no more than two failures or withdrawals in that term. International applicants: Conestoga lists this program at the higher degree-level English minimums - IELTS Academic 6.5 with no band below 6.0, TOEFL iBT 88 with no skill below 22, PTE Academic 58, or Duolingo 120. Conestoga also warns that required scores can differ for some IT and engineering programs. Anyone holding transcripts from outside Canada, Canadian citizens and permanent residents included, needs a course-by-course credential evaluation from a service such as ICAS or WES, and must show English proficiency if the language of instruction was not English.
