Wireless Network Infrastructure is a one-year, two-term Ontario College Graduate Certificate delivered full-time at Conestoga's Cambridge - Fountain Street campus. The program prepares graduates with a background in telecommunications, electronics or computer engineering/technology for work in the wireless telecommunications industry, building on undergraduate knowledge with practical skills using industry-standard tools such as drive-test tools, propagation tools, spectrum analyzers and network analyzers. Students study the configuration and troubleshooting of local and wide area networks, along with carrier-relevant topics such as virtual private networks and quality of service. Coursework also covers long term evolution (LTE), fifth-generation wireless networks, high-bandwidth wireless and concurrent MIMO systems, along with additional topics selected from spectrum utilization, IP-based wireless systems, enterprise WiFi, Bluetooth, intra-vehicular communication systems and the Internet of Things.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Admission requires a two- or three-year diploma or a degree from an accredited college or university in computer engineering/technology, electronics engineering/technology, telecommunications engineering/technology, electrical engineering/technology, embedded systems development, IT network security, computer science and IT, or another relevant discipline with significant networking and telecommunications content, with an overall average grade of B or above (assessed by country, to Ontario standards). Applicants whose prior education was not delivered in English must demonstrate English language proficiency.
