Society and Technology is a two-year pre-university profile leading to a Diploma of Collegial Studies (DEC) in Social Science at Dawson College. The program studies the social impact of technology through hands-on projects, examining how technology intersects with health, the environment, the economy, the arts, culture, media, and politics. Students combine the core Social Science curriculum of psychology, sociology, and research methods with courses drawn from a range of disciplines to analyze how technological change shapes contemporary society. The profile is intended for students planning to continue into university programs in the social sciences, communications, or technology-related fields. Graduates receive Profile 300.GS of the DEC in Social Science and are prepared for direct entry into related undergraduate programs. The program is delivered over four academic semesters of full-time study at Dawson College's Westmount, Montreal campus.
