Overview
The Foundations in Career Wellbeing Certificate is a part-time, five-course program offered through Douglas College Continuing Education for Career Development Professionals (CDPs) who want to better support clients facing mental health challenges during a job search. The curriculum introduces trauma-informed practice, mental health and wellbeing fundamentals, strategies for managing anxiety in career conversations, and the distinction between counselling and career counselling, alongside approaches for supporting both client and practitioner wellbeing. Course content is designed and taught by instructors with graduate or doctoral training in mental health and counselling. The certificate is aligned with the Pan-Canadian Competency Framework for Career Development Professionals. Admission Requirements: Admission requires that applicants already be working in the career or employment sector.
