Trades - Apprenticeship in Auto Body and Collision Damage Repairer

Auto Body and Collision Damage Repairer is a 25-week Ontario College Certificate apprenticeship offered by Fanshawe College, combining in-class learning with an employer-based apprenticeship component. The programme teaches students to restore, repair and replace auto body parts and interior finishings, and to assess collision damage and estimate repair costs. Instruction covers welding equipment operation, metal finishing, filler material application, and preparation and refinishing of high-end top coats, with an emphasis on keeping pace with evolving vehicle technology. Admission is not through ontariocolleges.ca: applicants must first secure a sponsor/employer in the trade, then complete a registered training agreement through Skilled Trades Ontario before attending their classroom training at Fanshawe. Graduates work as licensed auto body and collision damage repairers in collision repair shops, dealerships and insurance-related vehicle repair services.
