Trades - Apprenticeship in Automotive Service Technician (Block Release)

Automotive Service Technician (Block Release) is an Ontario College Certificate apprenticeship offered by Fanshawe College, combining paid employer-based work experience with block-release classroom instruction delivered in levels at the London campus. Apprentices learn to diagnose, repair and maintain vehicle engines, with specialization options in areas such as engines, suspensions or brakes, gaining hands-on experience with their sponsoring employer alongside their in-class training blocks. Admission is not through ontariocolleges.ca: applicants must first secure a sponsor/employer in the automotive service technician trade, then complete a registered training agreement through Skilled Trades Ontario before attending their classroom training blocks at Fanshawe's London campus. Graduates work as licensed automotive service technicians, diagnosing, repairing and maintaining vehicles at dealerships, independent repair shops and fleet service operations across Ontario.
