Trades - Apprenticeship in Automotive Service Technician (GM-ASEP)

Automotive Service Technician (GM-ASEP) is a two-year Ontario College Certificate apprenticeship offered by Fanshawe College in partnership with General Motors, delivered through alternating classroom instruction and paid work terms at a GM dealership over a four-year apprenticeship period. Apprentices learn to diagnose, repair and maintain General Motors cars and trucks using GM-specific diagnostic tools and procedures, developing manufacturer-certified technical skills alongside their day-to-day dealership work. Admission requires applicants to be currently employed at a General Motors dealership, formally registered as an apprentice with the Ministry of Labour, Training and Skills Development, and in receipt of a valid Offer of Classroom Training from that ministry; the programme is not accessed through ontariocolleges.ca. Graduates work as GM-certified automotive service technicians, servicing General Motors vehicles at GM dealerships across Ontario.
