This two-year diploma provides training that can lead to two Red Seal trades, covering the installation and servicing of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems for residential and commercial applications, including heat pumps, oil and gas heating, ventilation equipment, and commercial refrigeration units. The program includes on-the-job training and is delivered at the Summerside Waterfront Campus, and graduates are eligible to write apprenticeship exams toward Oil Heat System Technician and Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic certification. Admission requires a Grade 12 credential or equivalent and a resume detailing work, volunteer, and extracurricular experience, with preference given to applicants with academic math and physics; mature-student applications are accepted. The program suits students seeking a dual-trade pathway into heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration work rather than a single-trade certificate.
