Professional Master's in Water Science

The Professional Master's in Water Science is a course-based, non-thesis graduate program at INRS that provides practical experience through a professional internship in the water sciences field. Unlike the research-based master's programs at INRS, this program does not require a thesis and instead combines coursework with applied, work-based learning. It can be completed in three trimesters, or one year, on a full-time basis, or over two years part-time; part-time students may also begin in the winter term. At least one course in the curriculum is delivered entirely at a distance. Instruction is conducted in French. The program prepares graduates for professional practice in water resource management, environmental consulting and related applied roles, combining scientific training with direct workplace experience. The credential awarded on completion is a professional Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Water Science.
