The Primary Care Paramedic Certificate prepares students for emergency and non-emergency patient care roles as a Primary Care Paramedic. Delivered at Keyano College's Clearwater Campus over two years (five terms) in a hybrid format, the program combines synchronous online coursework with in-person labs, simulations, and clinical practicum experience, covering anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, patient assessment, communication, and clinical decision-making. Graduates are prepared to provide emergency and routine patient care in ambulance, community, and other pre-hospital settings. Admission requires a high school diploma or equivalent with a minimum overall average of 65%, including specified minimum marks in English, Biology, Science or Chemistry, and Math, along with proof of a current Alberta Class 5 driver's license and minimum age of 18 by the first day of classes.
