La Cité Collégiale offers Diploma in Éducation en services à l'enfance, a diploma in Social Sciences & Education programme in Ottawa, Canada. The programme runs for 2 years, delivered on campus. Teaching is in English. Tuition for international students is CAD 1,385 per semester (CAD 1,385 per semester for local students).
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Domestic entry — Ontario, Quebec or New Brunswick: the provincial secondary-school diploma or an equivalent, or pass the mature-applicant test if you are 19 or over. International applicants must hold a secondary-school diploma or baccalaureate, or be in their final secondary year with proof of enrolment; La Cité states that admission is competitive because places are limited and is never guaranteed. A criminal record for which no pardon has been sought or granted reduces the chance of obtaining a placement and a job in the field. Before the practical placements at stages 2, 3 and 4: an up-to-date immunisation record; a criminal record check from your local police service, or proof of pardon, renewed every six months to satisfy Ontario's Child Care and Early Years Act, 2014, at the student's own cost; a Red Cross or St John Ambulance standard first aid certificate; and a level-C CPR certificate. Both certificates must stay valid for the whole programme. Students who start in January take stage 1 from January to April and stage 2 from September to December.
